A building consultant can be an independent party who understands building and the building process.

Should the working relationship between a builder and the owner of a building project begin to deteriorate, a building consultant can examine the circumstances that instigated the deterioration and offer a clear understanding of what may be an emerging problem.

When a problem in a building project escalates to a dispute the working relationship between the builder and the proprietor often becomes untenable resulting in delays and increase cost for both parties.
